Ever wonder what others think about your blog? I know I do and so does one of our curious reader: Katherine of Sparkle Girl's Life. Katherine started Sparkle Girl's Life as a place to express her passion for beauty, nails, and fashion. But little did she know that her blog would grow to be so much more.. Since starting Sparkle Girl's Life in June, the blog has grown with viewers from over 49 different countries. Very impressive, don't you think? Check out her blog to see what it is all about.
Anyway, after reviewing her blog, here's what I like:
-Love the layout- simple and clean.
-Love the post date header
-Like the 'recent twitter' posts.
-Clean sidebars
-Good 'About' page
-Reviews are pretty informative
Here's what I think she can improve on:
-Banner?? Not exactly sure if that picture is the banner.. if it is.. it's too big and too dark.
-Wish your posts would have more pictures. Pictures are also small and too dark. Would love to see swatches as well
Hmm, that's all I can think of. What are your thoughts? Please let Katherine of Sparkle Girl's Life know by leaving a comment below. As always, constructive criticism is
welcome.. =)
I like that the layout is clean and easy to navigate. I would suggest making the banner smaller and having more detailed photos for the blog posts. Single shots of products or close ups would be a great start.
ReplyDeleteI agree - I like the clean layout, but the photo at the top is a little confusing and very large. Would recommend doing something that incorporates the blog's logo to really brand it.

Thank you all so much for your feed back :)
ReplyDeleteNice blog, I like it! The content is really good and exactly what a beauty enthusiast would be looking for. It's a good all-round blog since it has reviews of products, nail art and beauty boxes.
ReplyDeleteI find that there are enough pictures on the blog but they seem blurry a lot of the time so for me it's about picture quality.
Since there are lots of types of posts going on in the blog, I think the tags could use some work. Tags to all the beauty box posts would be great and tags to different types of products (like lips, nails, skincare, etc) instead of only being able to get the birchboxes together, the juleps together, etc and instead of having makeup one big category. It feels like each post has way too many tags that for the most part are not useful to the reader and it makes it hard to find a tag that is useful that we might want to click on. I use tags a lot on good blogs to help find older posts from that person that are interesting for me.
