Ever wonder what others think about your blog? I know I do and so does one of our curious reader: Ayah of LilPink. Look at how cute her layout is. =)
After reviewing her blog,
Here's what I like:
-Very cute layout. I love how bright and fun it looks.
-Cute banner
-Great placement of page labels
-Post title header is cute
-Pictures are good
Here's what I think she can improve on:
-A tracking sitemeter pops up almost instantly requesting that I sign in to view your
page. Hmm? This may be a turn off to readers. I personally do not like to log on, especially when it says "tracker", to
read a blog. Because the request pops up instantly, I did not have enough time to look through your blog. If you want to track and see how many views you get per day, I'd suggest Google Analytics. It's great without causing disruptions.
-Welcome note is great, but the font is way TOO small.
-Pictures are good, but seem inconsistent. Some are very bright, some are dark, some are in focus, some are out of focus, etc. I suggest that you use a photo editor to edit your photos before posting.
-There's A LOT going on on the side bar. You may want to clean it up a bit.
-The blog itself takes a long time to load.
I really wish I had more time to look through your blog before the site tracker login pops up. This may be something you would want to consider getting rid of OR at least give the option to the readers whether they want to sign in or not.

ReplyDeleteI agree, she needs to be consistent and in my opinion she can try and make it easier for her potential followers to find the channel of which they could click and follow. Just my 10 cents, I am fairly new too :)

My two cents on LilPink:
ReplyDeleteHere's what I like:
- The '+' signs that come out of the cursor when moving around, nice detail
- Posts have many pictures, which is nice, I do agree they need to be consistent, either all clear and bright or all filtered
What I don't like:
- I'm not a fan of the layout, there's too much going on on the sidebar
- Some sponsors logos are too big and distracting (especially the 'Fab' one)
- Many things on the sidebar have really small font sizes and are hard to read
- The RSS button is unnecessary big
- The badge could be better, looks a bit dull
- The head banner is too simple for my taste
- I'd get rid of the shadow for the tabs, it makes it difficult to read
