Ever wonder what others think about your blog? I know I do and so does one of our curious reader: Fancy Francy. Fancy-Francy has been around since 2010 as a personal lifestyle and fashion blog, but later decided to go in a different direction. The new site relaunched in April of 2012 and now offers mostly fashion and style advice, but will also touch on everything from finding your first apartment to how to cook your own meals to save money on eating out.

After reviewing her blog,

Here's what I like:
-The banner: It definitely catches my attention and makes me want to know more about her blog.Very pretty banner.
-Love how she ends every post with her signature.
-Good arrangement on the side bar- it let's her readers know how they can follow her.
-Lots of pictures. I like looking at pictures more than reading.

Here's what I think she can improve on:
- I am not really fond of the font. I don't think it goes well with the banner.
-The side borders: it's too thick. I don't know.. there's just something about it that I do not like.
-The bright teal blue font is very hard to read against the white background.
-I, personally, do not like the color combination at the bottom of her page-- the black, hot pink, and teal blue. I think you should keep the color consistent with the rest of the page- white or light grey (a light color transition).

What do you guys think? What are your thoughts? Don't forget to drop by Fancy-Francy's page to see what you like, don't like, think she add or remove. Let her know by leaving a comment below. As always, constructive criticism is welcome. =)

Oh and one more thing, do you think she should start incorporating her personal life into the blog or keep it as is?

  1. I think she has a great blog and as you mentioned her font in the teal are a little hard to read but overall its really nice and 'user-friendly', as for incorporating her personal life, she should do it only if she feels comfortable with it! Good luck!

  2. I have to agree with the font and color scheme being a bit hard to read / off. The content is very interesting perhaps she could include more pictures that she has taken and less images pulled off websites. I'm all for including personal life for the most part I find it makes it easier to identify with bloggers who share bits about their life.

  3. I think the site for the most part is well laid out. I do agree that the block lettering and the cursive header does make it slightly clash...with the word Fancy I would expect to see cursive writing throughout. The colour scheme is not bad either, but like you said, I'd try to keep it consistent so all pink and orange throughout would be something I'd suggest. Overall, I think when a blog first starts out there's always a lot of trial and error, and she'll go through several template revisions before she ultimately decides on something. Thank you for introducing us to Fancy Francy.

  8. I think everything is cute, the only suggestion I have is to remove the extra space between pictures and text in the main blog post.
